About me
I am a principal research engineer at Huawei Munich Research Center. I received my Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 2012. My current research interests are in resource allocation and channel modeling for wireless communication systems, in particular vehicular (V2X) and, as of recently, Industrial IoT (IIoT). Specifically, I am looking into how machine learning techniques can be used instead of (or alongside) heuristics to efficiently assign resources and predict wireless channels. Irrespective of the topic, my approach to research is applied in nature: I design, evaluate, and enhance protocols and models by performing measurements and building realistic simulators.Part of my work at Huawei is related to standardization, either as a front-facing delegate or as back office support. Currently, I work on 3GPP Release 16 V2X and Industrial IOT, whereas previously I was the prime Huawei delegate for 5GAA WG1 and ETSI TC ITS. I am particularly proud of the achievements on channel modeling: significant portion of V2V channel modeling framework used in 3GPP (TR 37.885) and ETSI (TR 103-257-1) is based on contributions I coauthored.
